I don’t think US is going to require any kind of approval from UN or any other countries. Neither the Afghanistan war nor the Iraq war was an unanimous decision by its allies. If a war is seen to be required by Mr.President, he could forge to create the circumstances.

Wars are never won or lost, but lives are. Quotes apart, victory and defeat are defined by the objective of the war. Did Bush fulfil his objective in going to the war? Yes! He did remove Saddham and Iraq is ransacked beyond repair. There is no way another ruler from that part of the earth could ever attempt to go against the US or its interests. The idea of the war is to instil fear in those minds and I do feel that he had succeeded in creating that fear. And remember the war is fought only partly in the warfields, its the peoples mind that is weakened. For the next few decades US has one less thing to worry about and thats what Bush dreamed about.
